Miyan Williams was born in 2001 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up at Winton Woods High School, where he was a standout running back. In his high school career, he rushed for 5,823 yards and 68 touchdowns, placing him 31st on the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s all-time rushing list.
He was a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com, and he had offers from both Ohio State and Iowa State before signing with the Buckeyes on December 18, 2019. Williams enrolled at Ohio State in January 2020 and was a freshman on the football squad.

Williams emerged as a crucial contributor for the Buckeyes in the 2021 season, serving as Henderson’s backup and forming a powerful duo with him. On September 11, 2021, he scored his first career touchdown against Oregon on a two-yard rush in the fourth quarter.
On Sept. 18, 2021, he had his first career 100-yard game against Tulsa, gaining 125 yards on nine carries, including a career-long 71-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. In the game, he also had his first career reception, a six-yard catch from quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Throughout the season, Williams impressed with his powerful running style and big-play potential. On September 25, 2021, he scored again against Akron on a four-yard run in the second quarter.
On Oct. 30, 2021, he had his greatest game of the season against Penn State, gaining 91 yards on 11 carries and averaging 8.3 yards per carry. In the game, he also had three catches for 22 yards. Unfortunately, he suffered his season-ending injury during that game.
