Garry joined WGN (AM) on 2nd March 2009 and started a week-long session during the 1-4 p.m slot that was vacant.
Meier’s service was highly appreciated as WGN announced that he will be serving the 1-4 slot as a permanent broadcast during the beginning of 3rd April 2009. He was later promoted to the host of WGN afternoon drive from the announcement that was given by WGN Radio on 8th April 2010.
On 9th April he began working from 3-7 p.m. as the afternoon drive host. On 21st May 2014, Meir was reemployed to be working with the WGN free form Internet radio station on 27th May. He served successfully until 20th November 2014, where the Tribune media made an announcement about dropping the promotions that he had been granted since the company was unable to generate enough revenue to offset it costs.
