Actor Macaulay Culkin has been estranged from his father, Kit Culkin, for over 20 years. Macaulay's mother accused Kit of being physically abusive and addicted to alcohol, which resulted in the pair getting a divorce in 1995. Since that time, Macaulay's father has made negative comments about the Home Alone star to the press. According to TMZ, Macaulay's father suffered a massive stroke in 2014, and requested to see him. However, the reunion never happened.

Modern Family star Ariel Winter told TMZ that the broken relationship with her mom would probably never be fixed. The teenager accused her mother, Chrisoula Workman, of physical and emotional abuse. Ariel's 35-year-old sister has been her primary caregiver since 2013. Chrisoula claims her daughter's relationship with a man four years her senior was the reason for their estrangement.

The final blow appeared to be after Susan started to attack her daughter's first husband, Dennis Quaid. She wasn't even invited to the wedding. Then, during an interview with People magazine in 1993, Susan revealed she hadn't spoken to Meg in years: "I wish there would be forgiveness. To be frank, I pray for it. It's a painful business to be estranged from your child."

Television host Vanessa Minnillo hasn't spoken with her mother, Helen Bondoc, in over 13 years. In an interview with Radar Online in 2012, Helen said: "I didn’t have a clue that Vanessa was getting married. We last spoke about 12 years ago on the phone. I just wanted to talk to her and tell her everything straight about my life. But I still think about her all the time, and I still love her dearly.” When Vanessa was 9 years old her mother left, forcing the beauty to move in with her father. Helen now lives in a trailer home and hopes the two can reunite one day.

The actor's mother denies hitting Corey with a curtain rod, or abusing him in any way. She told Radar Online, "This thing with Corey is getting totally out of hand." Their relationship hasn't ever been strong, which was evident when Corey sought emancipation from his parents at the age of 15.

Singer Adele stopped talking to her father, Mark Evans, after he sold a story about how he left her mother to The Sun newspaper. In 2013, she told Vogue magazine about whether or not she would see him again: “I was actually ready to start trying to have a relationship with him. He’s f**king blown it. He will never hear from me again." Mark was able to reconcile with Adele when she was 15 years old after abandoning her at the age of 3. In an interview with Daily Mail, he expressed wanting to meet his grandson. As of now, there are no reports of the two mending their relationship.
